On November 29th, Pastor Turner had 2 stints put in and also had a balloon procedure done. He's doing well and will return to see his doctor in a couple of weeks.

Please continue to pray for the Turners as they prepare to return to Haiti as well as for their health.

Welcome our new Medical Director, Greta Minton.

Dear friends and family of Mountain Faith Mission,

I am writing you to introduce myself as the new Director of Medical for Mountain Faith Mission. I am honored and humbled to be accepting this role. I understand that I have big shoes to fill as Kenneth Akers has done a wonderful job with this in the years past. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner from McMinnville, Tennessee and have actually been a nurse since 1983. My heart has always been for missions and I actually took my first mission trip in 1996 in the Gaza Strip where I worked for 3 weeks. I additionally have done mission trips to Costa Rica but my life changing experience was when I went to Haiti right after the earthquake and met Pastor Richard and Wilma Turner. Working with the Turners and the Haitians involved with Mountain Faith Mission has been like finding out about family you didn't know you had. My heart is truly with the Haitians and the Turners. I praise God for giving me this opportunity.

I have prayerfully considered what the most immediate goals for the medical needs of Mountain Faith Mission are. First, Dr. Charles offers such a wonderful service to the people of La Boule and surrounding areas. His clinic was severely damaged by the earthquake and literally is falling down around him. In addition, he is in desperate need of some new equipment. I am trying to raise enough money to rebuild his clinic as well as making it larger. The size of his clinic now is not adequate to serve the needs of the large number of patients he administers to. If enough funds are raised to rebuild his clinic then I would next purchase equipment that he needs. Secondly, a clinic is needed at the compound of Mountain Faith Mission. Many people come to the compound daily and/or weekly for assistance of their medical needs. Pastor Turner and I have discussed making a medical clinic there as well. I would additionally like to raise money for the equipment and start up of this clinic. There is a possibility that a building is already available for this on the compound. My vision for this clinic is to have a nurse and hopefully a Health Care Provider at this clinic full time. I hope to hire Haitians who are medically trained to assist with this clinic. I ask you to pray for God's guidance in these endeavors and especially for God to not only open doors but to make the path wide in placing a health Care provider at Mountain Faith Mission full-time.

During this holiday season we all reflect on what we are thankful for and I especially want to say how thankful I am for the faithful service of the Turner's. They have served the Lord with gladness at Mountain Faith Mission for almost 20 years now. As I am sure most of you know, Pastor Turner and Sister Turner are not well. They are struggling with medial issues but despite these medical problems are focused on serving the Lord with their work at Mountain Faith Mission and the Haitian people. I would like to honor both Richard and Wilma Turner in a special way. I would like to name the new medical clinic in La Boule the Richard Turner Clinic. The new clinic at The Mountain Faith Compound would be named The Wilma Turner Clinic. Sister Turner is always very quiet and humble and does a lot of work "behind the scenes" but serves many people weekly by treating their medical needs at the compound. I ask you to prayerfully consider donating money to this worthy and much needed cause and help me in honoring the Turners during this holiday season. Thank you to each of you for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Medical and for all you mean to Mountain Faith Mission and the Haitian people. Please if you are able to donate any amount of money to rebuilding the medical clinic, The Richard Turner Clinic or the new clinic at the Mountain Faith Mission compound, the Wilma Turner Clinic, mail a check with "Medical Clinic" written in the memo field.
